Breed Mixes

Chesadoodle

Chesadoodles are a cross between the Chesapeake Bay Retriever and the Standard Poodle. These lesser-known Doodles make the most devoted family dogs, as well as athletic and intelligent hunting companions. Chesadoodles are friendly, loving and outgoing, yet protective of family and property. They are incredibly focused and determined versatile hunters that excel in the water.

Double Doodle

Double Doodles are a cross between the Goldendoodle and Labradoodle. Our Double Doodles are from purpose-bred hunting lines that make incredible service and family companions as well. We have developed multiple generations of Double Doodles from diverse, healthy and beautifully tempered dogs.

American Retriever

The American Retriever is a cross of the Chesadoodle and Double Doodle. They are a new breed in development. With four parent breeds, the American Retriever has increased genetic diversity, which with health certified and DNA analyzed breeding lineages, leads to healthier, more intelligent, and better-mannered dogs. American Retrievers exemplify the beauty, brawn, and bravery of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever; the jovial, good-nature, and determination of the Golden Retriever; the loyalty, dependability, and versatility of the Labrador Retriever; and the intelligence, elegance, and non-shedding coat of the Standard Poodle.

Generations and Designations

F 1

A first-generation doodle, or F1, is usually defined as an outcrossed dog whose parents are a purebred Standard Poodle and a different breed of purebred dog. For our purposes, because we are outcrossing multiple breeds, we define a dog as F1 if one of their parents is a purebred retriever. F1 doodles have the most variance in coat traits and temperament.

F1b

An F1b is a first-generation doodle crossed back with a Standard Poodle. The “b” references breeding back to the poodle to reinforce the poodle genes associated with non-shedding and hypoallergenic coats.

F2

F2, or second-generation doodles are the result of two F1 or F1b doodles of the same breed mix bred together.

Multigenerational

A “multigen” is a multiple generation doodle, generally considered F3 or beyond. Multigen litters have the most consistency in coat traits and temperament.
